You might recognise them as the headliners of our 20th anniversary club night in 2024. Now experimental, genre-defying duo KOGG are releasing their debut album on Nonclassical. Built from spanners, toy whistles, brass, elastic bands and broken piano keys, the record maps out a tactile, exploratory sound world where composition, improvisation and DIY instrument-building meet.

Since forming in 2018, Selena Kay and Cerys Hogg have brought their inventive genre-defying sounds to prestigious and grassroots venues and events including IKLECTIK and London’s Moth Club. They've also appeared at Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, and Aldeburgh Festival.

“Couldn’t be more perfect”

Deb Grant, BBC Radio 6 Music

Stream title track Mechanista now: recorded spanners are turned into a playable instrument capable of producing huge metallic chords, and layered loops interlock to create a constantly shifting mechanical pulse. BBC Radio 6 Music said it 'couldn't be more perfect' .
