This season, we're highlighting our four Nonclassical Associate Composers - and we're kicking off in November with the wonderful Beni Giles, who works as a composer and producer. 

Beni's night features Kit Downes on harmonium and Tom Challenger on sax, alongside Tre Voci cello ensemble.

8.6.2016 // THE HERMES EXPERIMENT AND MAARJA NUUT

Join us on Wednesday 8 June for our final live Monthly Night of the season (before our ‘end of year' celebration in July) featuring Park Lane Group Artists - and Nonclassical Battle of the Bands' winners - The Hermes Experiment, and Estonian fiddler and singer Maarja Nuut. The Hermes Experiment - joined by Jethro Cooke - will present their METROPOLIS programme, exploring the sights and sounds of the city, whilst Maarja will perform tracks from her new album ‘Une meeles'.

The event is generously supported by the Hinrichsen Foundation and the PRS for Music Foundation.

3.5.2016 // Yshani Perinpanayagam and Sean Noonan

Join us for the May edition of our Monthly Nights at The Victoria with pianist Yshani Perinpanayagam and drummer Sean Noonan. Yshani's set - "Piano Play" - will feature a world premiere by Cheryl Frances-Hoad for piano and Commodore 64, and a London premiere of Ben Oliver's '147' (synchronised to a projected video of Ronnie O'Sullivan's record breaking 147 break in 1997), whilst Sean will be performing music from his Bruised by Noon project.

15.4.2016 // Rise of the Machines: Orchestral Club Night @ Ambika P3

Following on from the success of previous large scales events including ‘Pioneers of Percussion’ and ‘Pioneers of Electronics’, Nonclassical presents ‘Rise of the Machines’.

The centrepiece of the project is an orchestral club night London - developed in collaboration with Southbank Sinfonia - at Ambika P3 (University of Westminster), an underground space in central London. The concert programme includes works that explore the mechanical in orchestral music from different perspectives, culminating in the UK premiere of Gabriel Prokofiev’s Concerto for Turntables, Percussion, Trumpet and Orchestra

10.3.2016 // Nonclassical Club Night @ IFAI 2016, Leeds

On Thursday 10 March Nonclassical bring their pioneering club night to Leeds' Key Club as part of Leeds College of Music 50th anniversary celebrations. 

The night will feature Klavikon's unique re-imagined electronic music, as well as Nonclassical DJs. Tickets and more information available here

3.02.2016 // Darragh Morgan & NASduo

Our February Monthly Night at The Victoria will feature violinist Darragh Morgan performing works for violin and electronics, joined by special guests Mira Calix and Andrew Poppy who will be involved in live performances of their works.

On the bill are also NASduo performing works for clarinet, percussion and electronics.
