Following on from the success of previous large scales events including ‘Pioneers of Percussion’ and ‘Pioneers of Electronics’, Nonclassical presents ‘Rise of the Machines’.
The centrepiece of the project is an orchestral club night London - developed in collaboration with Southbank Sinfonia - at Ambika P3 (University of Westminster), an underground space in central London. The concert programme includes works that explore the mechanical in orchestral music from different perspectives, culminating in the UK premiere of Gabriel Prokofiev’s Concerto for Turntables, Percussion, Trumpet and Orchestra.
Our April Monthly Night at The Victoria (Dalston) also adopts the theme of Nonclassical's new mini-series, 'Rise of the Machines'.
BREATHE is a three-week festival celebrating AIR, that precious element which we all share, and which connects us to the earth. The three week festival takes place at the Old Church, Stoke Newington.
Our March Monthly Night at The Victoria will feature experimental composer collective Bastard Assignments, the pianist, composer and improvised John Kameel Farah performing a solo set, and the new project from composer Tom Green: Tom Green and the Lungs.
