A call for climate action: new music for strings & live electronics

We’re joining forces with Switzerland’s Verbier Festival to present Pastoral 21, a music and sound experience for strings, live electronics and field recordings that asks what ‘pastoral’ means to us in this time of climate crisis.

At the centre of Pastoral 21 is composer, producer, DJ and Nonclassical Artistic Director, Gabriel Prokofiev, whose latest album, Breaking Screens, explores ideas of consumerism, digital life and impending crisis, and whose Pastoral Reflections—a response to Beethoven’s famous Pastoral Symphony that has been commissioned by the Verbier Festival—makes its UK premiere in this performance. Prokofiev is joined by the UNLTD Collective, an ensemble of recent alumni of the acclaimed Verbier Festival Academy. The evening concludes with a DJ set.

Pastoral 21 calls for climate action during the important exchanges taking place at COP26. It is made possible with support from Bank Julius Baer.
