Chihiro Ono has been working with the Artificial Intelligence team and facilities at RNCM Centre for Practice & Research in Science & Music (PRiSM) to create a new electroacoustic work. Chihiro updates us on her creative process and her time working with PRiSM.
Chihiro Ono visited the RNCM Centre for Practice and Research in Science and Music (PRiSM) earlier this week to meet the team and facilities she’ll be collaborating with as part of her upcoming commission, premiering at Associate Composer Simon Knighton’s curated Nonclassical event in September.

Out on Friday 9th April, HachiRen is the upcoming EP from Chihiro Ono on Nonclassical. Combining fragments of violin melody with field recording and experimental electronics, the four movement suite is inspired by the life of iconic Japanese composer Taki Rentarō, drawing on themes from his song Kojo-no-Tsuki alongside an anonymous folk song from the Edo period, Sakura Sakura.
