Rise of the Machines review + next event

A very big THANK YOU to everyone who came down to Ambika P3 on Friday night for our packed 'Rise of the Machines' event with Southbank Sinfonia. Exploring the mechanical influence on music, the night featured live-techno prepared piano from Klavikon, orchestrations of Aphex Twin and the UK premiere of Gabriel Prokofiev's 'Concerto for Trumpet, Percussion, Turntables & Orchestra', along with Shostakovich, Mosolov and Larry Goves. And The Times gave us a 4* review

NEXT EVENT: Join us for the May edition of our Monthly Nights at The Victoria with pianist Yshani Perinpanayagam and drummer Sean Noonan. Yshani's set - "Piano Play" - will feature a world premiere by Cheryl Frances-Hoad and a London premiere of Ben Oliver's '147' (synchronised to a projected video of Ronnie O'Sullivan's record breaking 147 break in 1997), whilst Sean will be performing music from his Bruised by Noon project.

31 OCT - 1 NOV // Nonclassical @ SOUND UNBOUND - Barbican

Sound Unbound is a weekend festival that releases classical music from its traditional confines: you can tap into any of the short sessions in our Conservatory, foyers or concert halls, engage in debates around the genre, take a pint in and live tweet the concert, or go all night with a Nonclassical DJ set and our Classical Overnighter.
